Very few people will admit it, but we secretly love the fears that hold us back.
We’ve lived with them for so long that they’ve become a part of the family. We are so accustomed to them that we can’t imagine living without them.
We’re afraid of failure, of embarrassing ourselves, of standing out in the crowd, of change and of a range of other things that we’ve rationalised that we can do without.
It holds us back from doing a lot of meaningful things…
and we like it like that because we feel safe.
It’s time to make a change.
It’s time to say goodbye to the same old excuses that we’ve been using for years.
It’s time to do what you’ve been called to do, to be who you were meant to be.
It’s time to take action on those dreams that you’ve put hold for too long.
It’s time to do what you know is right in spite of your fears.
- That word of encouragement for a stranger
- That overseas missions trip to help those in need
- That business opportunity
- That desire to lead others
- That night school course
- That message of hope to those who are in despair
- That appointment with a counsellor that you’ve been delaying
We need you to do it.
Choose a life of significance over a life of safety.
Don’t let fear hold you back any more.

I never thought about loving our fears. Thank you so much for pointing that out and moving us on! 🙂
