If you’re just going to look like everyone else…

If your opinion is the same as the rest of the team’s…

If what you do is a replication of those around you…

If no-one notices when you’re not there…

If you never have a dissenting view or an innovative idea…

Then the reality is that we probably don’t need you.

If you’re no different, then why are you here?  We already have another version of you, making you one too many and dispensable.

I know that this sounds harsh, but thankfully, there is another way.

Instead of being a clone, you can use the unique skills, passions and experiences that you have to make a difference where you are.

You can give your original perspective when it’s needed.

You can take a risk, stick your neck out and do what no-one else can.

In doing so, you can show us why you’re here and why we need you.

Because there’s only one you.

And we need what you have.
