It’s time to get even with a few people.

Not with those who have hurt you, but with those who have helped you.

Not with those who doubted you, but with those who believed in you.

Not with those who said no to you, but with those who gave you opportunities.

Not with those who betrayed you, but with those who were there when you needed them.

Not with those who thought that you couldn’t, but with those who knew that you could.

Not with the haters, but with those who love you.

Too often we get fixated on avenging our enemies, but as Gandhi once said, “An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind.”

I would prefer that we tried to get even with those who have done us good.

Imagine the world we could create if we did that instead!

And in doing so, I would hope that we could get to the stage when we begin to love our enemies as well so that they could get even with us in a more positive way as well.
