Karen and I were working in the garden a few weekends ago when my oldest son Hayden said, “I’m glad that I’m not a tree.  You can’t move anywhere and the view is always the same.”

It was a very profound statement for a 9 year-old.

Here’s the thing.  You’re not a tree!

If you don’t like your current situation, make a change.

If you don’t like your current job, get a different one.

If you feel as though you’re in a rut, get out of it.

If there’s an issue that you’re passionate about, do something about it.

If your mindset is too negative, choose a positive attitude.

If you believe that you don’t know enough, read more.

If you’re not happy about your weight, eat better and exercise.

If you don’t think that you’re spending enough time with your loved ones, make a change.

You’re not a tree.

So don’t act like one!
