I’m a sucker for stats and I enjoy looking back and reflecting on the year that was.
2014 was a big year for the Better Life Coaching Blog, with traffic continuing to build and subscriber numbers increasing.
This blog has been in existence for almost five years now, with well over 1,200 posts and as always, I’m appreciative of the support and feedback that I continue to receive from people around the globe.

Most of us seem to have the same (or similar) conversations going on inside our heads throughout the day:
I should get up earlier.
I should call that person.
I should consider taking that risk.
I should send that email.
I shouldn’t let my circumstances get me down.
Are you walking in unfillable shoes?
Are you looking for opportunities to utilise your distinctive skills and abilities?
Are you doing remarkable work that no-on else can do?
Do you have a unique perspective that makes a positive contribution to the people around you?
Do you light up a room when you walk in?
Are you developing your skills to an elite level in a particular area?
I talk a lot about the need to take risks if we want to live successful and fulfilling lives.
At Christmas, I am reminded of the risk that God took.
He sent His Son as a baby, to be raised by a young couple who became refugees due to King Herod’s paranoia.
Can you imagine that?
His plan to redeem humanity could have gone terribly wrong if Mary and Joseph were neglectful or abusive parents.
When you stand at the bottom of a mountain and look up, the view can be daunting.
There is so far to go, so much climbing to do.
From the bottom, the mountain looks large, dangerous and foreboding.
It looks difficult and it’s tempting to give up before you start.
But if you’re willing to try and you stick with it, one day you will make it to the summit, where there will be another , much more appealing view.

I love the Christmas season and always enjoy receiving cards and letters at this time of the year with updates from friends and family regarding the year that’s just passed.

Every single person on the planet is an elevator person.
We either lift others up, or bring them down.
We either look for the positives, or the negatives in our situations.
We either look for reasons to encourage, or to criticise others.
We either help people to achieve their dreams, or we hold them back.
