Well, here we are again, at the end of another year.

2018 was another big year for this humble little blog and I went past 2.3 million views since starting in 2010

Thanks everyone for your support this year, I really appreciate all of you and trust that 2019 will be your best year yet.

Reading for me is a wonderful combination of necessity and recreation.

Some books that I read give me an opportunity to learn, whilst some keep me entertained.  Of course, the very best have a way of doing both.

Every year, I set out to read every day, with the goal to complete 25 books and in 2018, I have had the privilege of learning from, and being entertained by, some terrific writers.

As I tended to the BBQ for Christmas lunch today, I thought about the reason that we celebrate Christmas and wondered what he would feel about our meal.

There are many descriptions about Jesus and two of them struck me as pertinent.

Firstly, He was described by religious leaders as a glutton.

Jesus spent too much time eating with undesirables and sinners for their liking .

When hosting Christmas lunch at your place, you don’t just start preparing when your guests arrive.

You plan your menu in advance.

You do your shopping.

If trying something different, you have a practice run beforehand so that you don’t mess up the big day.

You prepare in advance, so that when everyone turns up, you are ready.

As more and more politicians, athletes and other high profile individuals get caught in senseless scandals that ruin their reputations and hurt their loved ones, I want to ask you this simple question:

While no-one is watching, what are you doing?

Are you working hard?

Are you acting in a manner that is aligned with your values?

Are you doing things that you and others would be proud of?

Merry Christmas from Madison, Logan and Hayden

It’s that time of year again when we send and receive Christmas cards with updates from friends and family.  I have a few family members who write lovely letters with the details of their year and so here is the annual message from our tribe.
