Sometimes, we interpret our nerves as a message not to do something.

“Don’t apply for that job.”

“Don’t try out for the team.”

“Don’t put your hand up.”

“It may not work out.”

We get nervous and so we don’t try.

But perhaps our nerves are telling us something different.

Perhaps they are telling us that what you are thinking about doing really matters.

Perhaps they are telling us that this is something that you care about.

Perhaps they’re not nerves at all, but unchanneled enthusiasm and energy.

Perhaps they’re not saving you from potential failure, but prompting you towards potential success.

So, don’t hope that your nerves go away, utilise them in your quest to become the best version of yourself.
