Before a big race or exam, Japanese people will often use the phrase, “gambare” to encourage the other person.

It means go for it.

Do your best.

Hang in there.

I don’t know what challenge is in front of you today, but I want to encourage you with that term.

I want to encourage you to really go for it.

To give it your best shot.

To persist when it gets tough.

That’s all we can ask.

And if you do that, the result will look after itself.
