I read a lot of biographies and memoirs and one of the common elements that strikes me is that these incredibly successful and notable people each had a lot of help along the way.

Yes, they are talented, resilient and hard-working, but they also take a lot of time to thank their parents, or spouse, or grandparent, or mentor, or teacher, or boss, or random stranger who had a timely word of advice.

If you think that you are going to make it by yourself, you’re mistaken.

And if you think that you have to make it by yourself, you’re also mistaken.

It won’t happen in isolation.

It happens when you allow others to go with you on the journey.

When you listen and learn.

When you allow others to help.

When you put aside your pride and realise that occasionally, someone else may know best.

And when you look for opportunities to assist others in their endeavours.

So who is on your team?

And whose team are you on?
