Some things are easy to measure.

We can tell who the best hundred metre runner is. We just need a stopwatch.

Some things are a matter of opinion.

The best lemon meringue maker?

The best newsreader?

The best landscape gardener?

That’s a little bit harder to define.

The first one is a matter of fact, the second a matter of opinion.

The first, you know with your head, the second, you suspect with your heart.

If you want to be the best, keep this in mind.

If you can’t measure it absolutely, then you need to find a way to connect with others, to win their approval, to gain their endorsement.

You may not be the best in everyone’s eyes.

But you can aspire to impact enough people that they can see your greatness.
